The Dr. Edith Neumann Scholarship

Dr. Edith Neumann

Dr. Edith Neumann led Touro University Worldwide (TUW) as Provost and Professor of Health Sciences from 2012 thru 2018. Dr. Neumann received her Ph.D. in Medical Sociology from Boston University, majoring in health care organizations and specializing in program evaluation and needs assessment. She also earned a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management and a B.A in Behavioral Sciences-Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology and held a degree in Nursing.

Dr. Edith Neumann was a dedicated educator who founded the Touro University International (TUI) Colleges of Health Sciences and Education and served as Dean of both schools for nine years. Through February 2010, she also served as TUI’s Vice President for Academic Affairs. Her dedication to healthcare and health sciences spanned over 40 years of a health related career. 

After Dr. Edith Neumann’s passing in February of 2018, TUW renamed the school of Health and Human Services to The Edith Neumann School of Health and Human Services and created a scholarship fund in honor of her legacy.

All Funds donated to Dr. Edith Neumann Scholarship program will disbursed to eligible students applying for the scholarship in Health Sciences related degrees. The scholarship will provide much needed help to eligible students, with a one-time award in the amount of $1,000 toward tuition in eligible degree programs which include the following:

   

 

How it Works

Touro University Worldwide (TUW) allocate $50,000 per academic year toward the Dr. Edith Neumann Scholarship Fund. All of the funds are donated to TUW. TUW will award $1,000 to eligible students up to 50 students per academic year. Scholarship awards are considered during Fall and Spring terms.

For consideration of the Dr. Edith Neumann Scholarship fund, eligible new students need to:

  1. Submit TUW’s complete application for admission.
  2. Be a citizen of the United States of America.
  3. Submit the scholarship application to Admissions at least two weeks before the start date of the Fall or Spring term session.
  4. Provide official transcripts as needed (High school transcripts and college transcripts)
  5. Be a New Degree-seeking student in one of the eligible degree programs.
  6. Enroll as a full-time student.
