Students who complete the fully online TUW BA in Psychology program with a concentration in elementary, secondary, or special education can apply up to twelve credits towards the online Rio Salado Post Baccalaureate Teacher Education Program.*

Program Details

The Touro University Worldwide Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree is for professionals looking to develop a deeper understanding of human behavior and promote a holistic approach to mental health and well-being. The program provides opportunities for professional and personal development and builds an academic foundation for continued education into one of the concentrations in the program that is the concentration in elementary, secondary, or special education. Graduates can apply up to twelve credits towards the online Rio Salado Post Baccalaureate Teacher Education Program.*

The program graduates also can continue to one of our graduate-level psychology Master’s degree. The BA in Psychology curriculum aligns with the APA guidelines and goals for undergraduate learning outcomes and covers important topics that include learning psychology, developmental psychology, experimental psychology, social psychology and abnormal psychology.

The TUW Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program offers four concentrations, three of which upon completion will allow students to transfer credits towards the teacher education post baccalaureate program at Rio Salado. Information about TUW education concentrations are below:

Elementary Education:

Required 12 credits (4 courses) of the following:

  • PSY 311 Educational Psychology
  • PSY 407 Theories of Reading
  • HIS 120 US History & Constitution
  • EDU 332 Structured English Immersion Foundations (Approved by the State of AZ Department of Education)

Special Education

Required 9 credits (3 courses) of the following:

  • PSY311 Educational Psychology
  • HIS 120 US History & Constitution
  • EDU 332 Structured English Immersion Foundations

Secondary Education

Required 9 credits (3 courses) of the following:

  • PSY311 Educational Psychology
  • HIS 120 US History & Constitution
  • EDU 332 Structured English Immersion Foundations (Approved by the State of AZ Department of Education)

Tuition

TUW’s tuition is $400 per credit. Each three credit course costs $1,200. This 120 credit, 40 course program costs $48,000. Total program cost will be lower if the student has approved transfer credits. A range of Tuition Assistance Programs (TAP) and students loans may be available for you from Touro and through Federal Financial Aid. Please ask your enrollment advisor and the financial aid office if you qualify for these benefits. Additionally, your employer may help with tuition costs, and our enrollment advisors can provide further advice in that regard.
