In the MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, you will gain the skills and credentials you need to become a respected therapist in your field. As the need for mental healthcare has grown, so has the need for family therapists to help provide holistic healing.

Touro University Worldwide MAMFT program, offers three tracks:

1. Marriage and Family Therapy Track (COAMFTE Accredited- with Show cause; Approved by the CA BBS)
2. The Counseling Licensure Track (Not COAMFTE Accredited; Approved by the CA BBS)
   
3. The MFT Studies track (Not COAMFTE Accredited)
   

The MAMFT Marriage and Family Therapy Track

The MAMFT Marriage and Family Therapy Track at TUW is the only MFT track accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), and is designed so that graduates are eligible for MFT Licensure in the State of California (and most other states) without requiring any additional coursework. The degree will enable graduates to pursue careers in mental health agencies, government organizations, private practices and elsewhere. This program also provides the necessary foundation for doctoral programs.

The Counseling Licensure Track
The Counseling Licensure Track is an extension of TUW’s Marriage and Family Therapy Track (COAMFTE Accredited- with Show-cause) and is intended for students who want to pursue dual licensure pathways (LMFT and LPCC) in California, and approved by the CA BBS. In addition to core MFT clinical training, students complete Counseling Licensure-specific coursework focused on counseling theory, career development, and advanced intervention strategies.
This track is especially valuable in states where LPCC licensure expands employment opportunities, practice scope, and reimbursement options.

The MFT Studies Track
The MFT Studies Track is designed for students who want graduate-level expertise in family systems and behavioral science but do not intend to pursue clinical licensure, such as clergy. While students complete core academic MFT coursework, this track excludes practicum experiences and supervised clinical hours.
